About the Dash

The Dash to Dublin is a 24 hours per day, 8 day Bike-a-thon.

The Princeton Men's Rugby team will be on a stationary bike peddling for every single minute of the 8 day challenge from 5pm November 10th to 5pm November 18th. Switching off on hour-shifts, the 40 players participating hope to bike the equivalent distance from Princeton to Dublin, roughly 3230 miles.

Through its efforts, the team hopes to raise $14,000 in order to make the 2012 Spring Development Tour to Ireland affordable for every player in the club. On the Princeton Rugby Team, any player that wants to go on tour is given the opportunity and this is a fundraising push to ensure that no player is left behind.

The Dash is a great tradition of the team, originally conceived of for the 2008 Spring Development Tour to Ireland. Often the entire rugby community of players, coaches, alumni, and friends of the team gets involved and spectators are always welcome to bike a couple miles towards our goal.

You will see our tent outside Frist Campus Center every hour until 5:00pm November 18th. Whether it is 3am and snowing or midnight on Saturday as everyone pours out to Prospect, you will see a Princeton rugby player out on that bike.
